OUR TIMELINE IN HAITI

2008

First-ever eye care services in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti provided via mobile eye clinic.

2008-2015

Mobile clinics continue in Fond-des-Blancs, delivering eye care to remote communities.

2012

Planning for a permanent clinic begins as demand grows and mobile clinics can no longer meet local needs.

2015

GEP launches full-time eye clinic services in Fond-des-Blancs, operating within the local hospital.

2016-2017

Word of mouth brings a surge of patients to the clinic. Donors respond with equipment, supplies, and GEP expands training for local staff.

2018

Clinic renovations are made to accommodate higher patient volume and improve care delivery.

2019

GEP introduces Haiti's first ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity) screening program.

2021

Pediatric vision and eye health screening program launches with support from USAID.

2024

GEP begins planning and fundraising to build an independent, permanent eye clinic in Fond-des-Blancs.

2025

Land is purchased to construct Global Eye Project's own permanent eye clinic in Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti.
